The Success Project at Strayer University was launched to redefine success and shine a spotlight on how to make sure that you have what you need to succeed. Part of that entails ensuring you are surrounded by positive, encouraging individuals who are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. That is why we have the Success Coaches, people who focus on your success and providing you with the resources and tools you need to excel as a student, a working professional, and as a person.

To put a face to the name, we’re introducing you to some of the Success Coaches on the team. Meet Tarvin Watson.

“Don’t limit yourself to anything. And education is the key to many, many doors and I make sure that they [students] understand that.”

Tarvin Watson has worked in post-secondary education for the past five years, recently joining Strayer’s student academic services department as a Success Coach. He enjoys nature and the arts and considered becoming an actor at one time. Now he turns that expressive personality toward helping students find their way to their goals. Tarvin has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a minor in computer networking, from Carlos Albizu University in Miami.

In his own words…

(Transcript): My name is Tarvin Watson, and I am a Strayer University Success Coach. A Success Coach at Strayer University centers around the student: they are our number one priority. My favorite thing about being a Success Coach is interacting with the students, learning their needs, and their wants, and where they want to be. This can be difficult sometimes, we understand that, but we want people to know that we are here for you. We are your University concierge.
